Who invited you, and where is it taking place? Is it a small gathering or a fanciful masquerade? What food will be served? What rumors or information can you and your company gather while at the party, or what terrible villain will interrupt the festivities?
You and your adventuring company have been invited to a party by a wealthy nobleman in a grand mansion on the outskirts of town. The invitation mentioned that it would be a masquerade, so everyone is expected to come in costume and wearing a mask.
The party is quite grand, with plenty of food and drink to go around. There will be elaborate appetizers, roasted meats, and sweet pastries. There is also a punch bowl filled with a mysterious, brightly colored liquid that is rumored to have some sort of magical properties.
While at the party, you and your company have the opportunity to mingle with the other guests and gather rumors or information. You might overhear whispers about a powerful artifact that the host has recently acquired, or a plot to overthrow the local government.
However, just as things are starting to get interesting, a group of bandits crashes the party and demands that everyone turn over their valuables. It’s up to you and your adventuring company to defend the guests and drive the bandits away. Do you have what it takes to save the day and emerge victorious?
